Weekly update Thursday 14th March 2024

14 Mar 2024

Our Vision

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

Friday 15 March 2024 - Red Nose Day
We are changing how we are marking Comic Relief this year.  We would like to recognise this important charity event and are inviting children to wear one item of red to school that day (everything else is school uniform).  We are asking that if you wish to donate to charity that you do so directly through the Comic Relief website, via this link

We have Skip to be Fit in school tomorrow.  They will be working with every child in school during the morning helping us to develop our fantastic skipping skills.  As you will have noticed we are also wearing something red for Red Nose Day, please take into consideration that your child will need to skip in whatever they are wearing.  Please ensure children have their trainers in school.
Acorn class will not be doing PE on Friday 22nd March 2024, so will need to come to school in full school uniform.
Cars in Manor Court
Parent are using and dropping off children in Manor Court and this is causing an obstruction for the school bus.  This is a safeguarding and health and safety concern.  Please do not drive into Manor Court for drop off or pick up (this was a condition of our planning approval for the entrance to school).
Easter Tea
Join us for an Easter celebration at St Andrews Church Kirkby Malzeard on Friday 22nd March 2024 from 1.00pm.  Following this service, we will return to school to collect our belongings you are then welcome to take your child home from school.
Easter holidays – school closure
A reminder that as school finishes at 2.00pm there will be no after school club on Friday 22nd March 2024.  School re-opens on Tuesday 9th April 2024.
SEND Virtual Neurodiversity Conference for parents/carers
Follow the link below to find out more information about a free Virtual Conference: 'Celebrating, Embracing and Empowering Our Children', providing advice and support for parents and carers of neurodiverse children and young people.
Residential visit to Bewerley Park
Due to the high levels of staffing needed for the Bewerley Park residential trip, breakfast club will operate from 8am - 8.45am only on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. This will be for supervision only, no breakfast will be available on these days.
Please drop all children to Acorn Class door on these days.
A gentle reminder for parents to settle their accounts on Parent Pay for Bewerley Park by the very latest Friday 15th March 2024
Clubs – last week of term
Other than Music Club and Whizz Kids after school club, there are no clubs running next week.
Forest School Wednesday - Acorn Class
This half term Acorn will have their forest school sessions EVERY Wednesday. Children need to bring with them one waterproof coat, waterproof trousers, hat and gloves.  Please make sure these are named and your child knows what they have brought with them.
Can all items be in a small bag separate to their lunch or reading bag.
RSE Survey
Our current federation policy for Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) has been in its current form for three years.  We would now like to consult parents and carers once again as we come to review it.  We would be very grateful if you could take a moment to complete this survey and return it to school by Friday 22nd March.  You can access the survey by clicking on the link below:
Lost Property
We have a pair of glasses in school (black & pink frames) if you have lost a pair please come and see us.
