Weekly update Thursday 28th September 2023

Mrs P Phillips - 28 Sep 2023

Weekly update Thursday 28th September 2023

Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

Harvest Festival Donations
Thank you to those who joined us for our harvest festival this morning. It was great to see such a full church and we hope you enjoyed learning about the spread of food around the world. In school this week, we are collecting food and financial donations for the food bank. If you wish to help, please take food donations to your class teacher and financial donations to the school office.

Ofsted
We welcomed Ofsted into school on Tuesday this week, who spoke to many of our pupils and we took great pride in sharing our school with them. We would like to thank everyone for their positive contribution to the inspection this week.  We feel very well supported by our community.

Website and Email Communication
Following on from the information we provided last week, we are continuing to investigate website and email communication.  These problems do not lie with school but with the website provider and Microsoft.  Thank you for your patience.

Netball Taster Session - Monday 9th October - 3.30pm - 4.30pm
NETBALL4ALLUK are hosting a taster session at Kirkby Malzeard school on Monday 9th October at 3.30pm, this is open to all children up to age 9 to a maximum of 21 pupils, if this is successful and we have enough interest we will be running an after-school club for 5 weeks thereafter (16th, 23rd October and 6th, 13th and 20th November).
If you are interested, please see a separate email which was sent out earlier today.

New dates added to the diary:

Kirkby Malzeard school will be hosting the annual Tri Golf Festival for KS2 next week Monday 2nd October running alongside the current professional tournaments - the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. We have 2 teams representing the school from all years across KS2.

Parents of the children involved have been notified separately.

Below is a link to some great NSPCC guidance around children’s use of social media.
