World Book Day
16 Mar 2018
We were finally able to celebrate World Book Day on Monday 12th March, after the snow stopped us celebrating it on the planned date.
Children came into school dressed in fantastic costumes, including Where's Wally, The Boy in the Dress, Horrid Henry and so many more. Teachers joined in too, with Burglar Bill sneaking into our assembly to steal some trophies - later returned by Mrs Peacock, fortunately - a very happy Little Miss Giggles and Little Miss Inventor, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe from Mr Rutter's class, the Gruffalo and Professor Trelawney among their costumes. We were also visited by a real-life, three day old lamb called Luna, named after the Harry Potter character. She was very popular with children and staff!
In the morning, classes did book-related activities to tie in with English and Maths lessons, before an afternoon of carousel activities planned and organised by our wonderful Reading Ambassadors.
Here are just some of the many photos from the day - we hope you enjoy the imaginative costumes!
