Weekly Update Thursday 3rd July 2025

03 Jul 2025

Our Vision

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

Whizz Kids 4th July
There will be no Whizz Kids available on Friday 4th July due to the production of Moana the Musical taking place at Masham Town Hall.

Class Collective Worship
Each week one of our Collective Worship sessions takes place in class with a focus on something in the news.  Attached is a take home that you might like to think about and share with your child at home, there is no need to return this to school.  There is a new sheet each week.

Forest School Friday
To support our Golden Thread further, Helen will be running a morning forest school session for each class on a Friday morning based around understanding and embracing the wider world. The dates are on the website and are as follows:

Friday 4th July – Acorn & Oak

Children should come in comfy, warm clothes suitable for forest school. They will need long trousers, water proofs and wellies. Please send uniform in a bag for the afternoon session.

Reading for Pleasure

We are having a Booknic in school on Wednesday 9th July at 1.15pm, a chance to read, relax and share books together. If your child would like to bring a book from home to share this would be great. The Library Service will be visiting our school at the same time to promote the library service and The Summer Reading Challenge. As part of this visit, they will be talking with the children about how to use the library and borrow books. Each child will have the opportunity to join the ‘Summer Reading Challenge’.
If your child (or anyone in your family) is not yet a library member, please complete the slip below and return it to Mrs Pawson by Monday 7th July at 3pm. We also have some paper copies of this form in school if that is easier. We can then join children as members of the library and have their new card ready for them to use from Wednesday. This card can also be used for the online audio books which are available to borrow, most of which are FREE.

Finally, don’t forget that joining the library is FREE for everyone – if you haven’t joined the library yet why not come along on Wednesday yourself and join the library at our event, or simply bring a book and join us at our Booknic!
