New this week…
Governor visits for Pupil Voice
Governors recently visited the school to talk to the children about their school experiences and found them very eager to tell us about how they enjoy their time at the school.
They like coming to the school, enjoy learning together, reading the amazing range of books and having a wide selection of enrichment activities such as Forest School, cooking, sport and residentials. They said the teachers are welcoming and they feel safe at the school and know what good behaviour means. There are procedures in place should there be any concerns about behaviour.
During the group discussions they took turns to listen to each other and demonstrated respect and kindness towards their peers. They think Kirkby Malzeard is a good school where everyone is equal, and their hard work is recognised. he children spoke at length and all acknowledged the excellent pastoral support that the school offers and how they found their teachers most approachable in any situation. Mrs Martin was given considerable credit for the help she offers with problems and one-to-one support. Each child was genuinely proud to attend Kirkby Malzeard C of E Primary School.
Thank you from the governors to everyone who helps to make the school so good.
Patronal Festival – Saturday 30th November 2024
The village church is celebrating their patronal festival at the Mechanics Institute this Saturday with stalls and refreshments. Children from Kirkby Malzeard school will be singing a medley at 1130am, we look forward to seeing everyone there. We hope that Father Christmas might make an appearance as well.

The children in Acorn and Oak are starting to think about their nativity. We are learning songs and Makaton, we will shortly be thinking about parts we would like to play. Families of children of Acorn and Oak class will be notified separately with information regarding their child’s role in the performance. We look forward to seeing everybody on Thursday 12

Reminders…
Parent help - Postcards
As part of Geography and helping the children understand place and locational knowledge could I ask that if any parents or relatives are visiting places of interest or travelling to other destinations on day trips or on holidays that they pick up a postcard. They can either send to school by post or send the postcard with their child on return to school. We can then, together as a class, find, locate and investigate locations around the world. I am sure they will be eager to learn about who has been where and this will enthuse and encourage them to further their skills in using world maps, atlases and globes.
