Weekly Update Thursday 6th June 2024 - amended

06 Jun 2024

Our Vision

We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness’ and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.

New this week…

Phonics Screen Check
Some children in KS1 will be taking part in the National Phonics Screen check on the week beginning 10th June.  Information about this will be sent home with your child if it is relevant to them.

School Photographs
We are welcoming Rachel-Evelyn from Sweetpea Photography on â€‹TUESDAY 18th June 2024.
Rachel will be working with both School and Pre-school during the day to take photos of the children individually and with their siblings. As well as a group photo of our Year 6 children.

If you would like sibling photos, please collect a form from your child's class teacher from Monday 10th June 2024 and return them by Friday 14th June.

If you would like to have a photo of your child with their younger sibling (children not yet at our school). These photos will take place at the start of the school day 8.45am.  Please also fill in the above mentioned form.

Learn to read books
As we near the end of the school year there are always timetable changes to accommodate sports days, transition times etc.  With this in mind our timetable for learning to read books coming home to celebrate reading needs to alter slightly from the norm. Children will not always bring their book home on their usual day.  Please can children always have their book bag and reading record in school and all books must be returned to school on a Friday.
Thank you for your understanding.

Monday 10th June - Sports Afternoon
Sports Afternoon will now take place on Monday 10th June.  Thank you for your support and understanding with the rescheduling of this event.  Children will come to school in the morning in their PE kit, as previously planned.

Great North Swim
Miss Mackenzie will be completing the Great North Swim on Saturday in Lake Windermere. She is raising money for a young boy called Alan, who is in need of rehabilitation following a life-changing accident. All money raised will go towards Alan's mother Kamila Nowicka's appeal fund towards treatment for Alan, physiotherapy and spinal chord surgery. Any donations are very gratefully received. Thank you.
