Safeguarding, Health and Wellbeing Updates…
Message from living Autism
Living Autism Foundation is a charity who help autistic people, their families and carers. One of our main objectives is to provide workshops which will offer information and approaches to help reduce anxieties and to improve health and wellbeing.
We have organised our next workshop
at The Youth Centre, Headingley Parish Hall and Youth Centre, St Michael’s Road, Headingley, Leeds, LS6 3AW, on Saturday 8th June 2024 from 09.30am to 12.30pm.
Our guest speaker will be Mike Cowan-Jones. Mike has over 30 years experience as an occupational therapist and trainer and is a member of a neurodivergent family. The workshop will explain how to make the education system work for autistic young people, families, including highlighting what can happen when transitions are mis-managed; the difficulties that can occur even with the best managed transitions; the role of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s) and the role of home education as opposed to home schooling.
The workshops are free to attend, however, should anyone attending feel they could support these or future workshops with a voluntary donation, this would be very much appreciated. A large part of our funding relies on donations.
