Our Vision
We believe that our children should have the aspiration and opportunity to ‘Live life in all its fullness and ‘Shine like stars in the sky’.
New this week…
Behaviour Policy
Earlier this week we held an information meeting for parents all about our school behaviour policy. Thank you to those who attended. At the meeting it was felt that our ‘behaviour blueprint’ was a really helpful document for parents to see. This is an overview document that shows at a glance how we support behaviour in our school (image below)
This can also be found on the school website on the policies page or by following this
link.
A more detailed explanation of our behaviour policy can also be found on the school website or by following this

Parent Working Party
Please come along to our first parent working party on Wednesday 11
th October at 2.45pm. This is a great opportunity to share views and suggestions and help to continue to move our school from strength to strength. We look forward to seeing you there.
Key Stage 2 Science Workshop
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have the exciting opportunity to be part of a Science workshop on Thursday 12
th October. The children will be consolidating their learning from last year's unit on Sound. The School of Noise will be letting them have hands on experiences with a mix of interactive presentation and hands-on play and experimentation. They offer students an opportunity to conduct scientific experiments on how sound is made (vibration, frequency), how it travels (medium, longitudinal/pressure waves) and where it ends up (hearing, absorption).
Our library has officially reopened!
It was lovely to hear and feel the love of reading in our library this week when we reopened it to the children. We are heavily investing in our school books with support from our Friends group. Please can you help us by ensuring your child looks after their book and understands that it needs to be returned to the library (on the return shelf by the computer) once they have finished with it. Water bottles can be disastrous for books…please make sure they are not stored together in case of a leak. Thank you.
Parent Book Club
Our parent book club have been reading Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, we will meet to chat about this book on Thursday 26
th October at 6pm. Anyone is welcome to read it and come along. We have some exciting ideas for things to read this school year and look forward to new parents joining us.
Harvest Food Bank Collection
Thank you so much for the generous donations towards our Harvest Food Bank Collection. We will be taking these to Ripon food bank this evening, any further donations please taken them directly to the food bank.

Bonfires & Bonfire Night - Advice from North Yorkshire Council
Q) What is proposed to be burned on the bonfire?
All material should be clean and safe, no treated wood, tyres, plastics, rubber and oil should be burned. Only burn small amounts of paper, leaves, wood and cardboard and ensure the waste is kept secure before burning. If the waste can harm health or pollute the environment it should not be burned.
Q) Where has that material come from?
Don’t be a victim of waste crime, do not accept waste from a business, commercial or industrial setting, it should be waste that has originated from your domestic property only. If you suspect illegal waste activity report it anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or if waste is being burned contact North Yorkshire Council (Harrogate area) on: 0300 131 2 131 or report it online via this link
Environmental protection enquiries and issues - About this form - Section 1 - SRT - My Harrogate or send an email to
environmentalprotect.har@northyorks.gov.uk.
Q) Is it appropriate, safe and legal to burn? Follow the above advice and that stated in the documents below and ensure you position the bonfire in a safe area where there is no risk of other buildings, land or trees catching fire, or people being hurt. Manage the fire to ensure flames and smoke are controlled, and ensure the fire is never left unattended.
If you decide to have bonfire at home make sure you are fully aware of the information above and that stated in the following useful documents.
