Oak Class School Trip around Kirkby Malzeard Village

On Wednesday 7th October Oak Class was full of excitement. In Geography they have been learning all about the UK and mapping. Their learning began using google Earth to look at the world and carefully zooming in until our school was found. They then began learning about how to draw maps and what they are used for. They then decided to try drawing maps of the village...therefore a village walk was required!
Oak class had a fabulous trip to the village, spotting lots of important places and also lots of important people! During the walk the children carefully decided what they thought should be included on their map and plotted these on a rough sketch, ready to use back in class. The children also had to use all their road safety skills as there were lots of roads to cross.
