Summer Homework in Cedar
We expect pupils to complete the following homework each week.
Maths:
- Complete the weekly My Maths activity set each Friday – to be completed by the following Thursday
- Additional Challenges on My Maths – can you improve your score? Go back and revisit a topic that you haven’t done for a while – have another go!
- Daily Times Table Rockstars practice
- Daily practice on Hit the Button https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
Reading:
- Read your scheme book 10 mins daily
- Read for pleasure every day – your own choice of book, magazine or any other reading material
- Read aloud to someone once a week, to practise your expression whilst reading
- Complete Read Theory session every week
English:
- Research a news article and upload onto Seesaw prior to Tuesday
- Record on Seesaw why you have chosen this piece of news – your writing should include the following:
- A short summary of the article and what it is about
- Why the article appealed to you
- Do you think it could be Fake News? If so, why?
- Your opinion of the article
- What you think other peoples’ opinions may be
- Don’t forget to check your spelling and punctuation!
You may want to create a homework timetable and organise your tasks throughout the week. This is a great way of organising yourself independently and great preparation for secondary school.
