The Governors

Malcolm Brigg (O.B.E., M.A., and B.Sc) is our Chair of Governors. He is a proud husband, dad and grandad. He was a teacher for 23 years, including nine as a Head of a large 13-18 Inner City Comprehensive School. He has a wealth of experience within the field of education. Malcolm has a wide range of interests, particularly his family, the countryside, gardening, music and our school.
 
Liz Jarvis is a reader in the benefice and feels privileged to be so closely linked to our school. She particularly enjoys her involvement in collective worship which is always stimulating, and never fails to lift her spirits seeing pupils engage in all aspects of school life with such enthusiasm.
Tracey Cole-Brownlee is a mum of two children with a career in teaching. Tracey feels her role as a governor gives her the opportunity to support the school in their vision to continually improve standards. She enjoys her responsibility as Literacy governor as it is a fantastic both a love of literacy and high achievement.
 
Steven Weld served in the Regular Army between 1958 -1988 via Sandhurst. He taught Art & D.T. between 1988 -2010 in the private sector, where his roles included that of 'House Parent'. Steven is a keen artist and runs our school art club. He is an active member of the local community.
Karen Pickles has served on the governing body of our school for over 20 years. Her own four children progressed through the school from reception to year 6; her first contributions were as a parent governor. She is now a co-opted governor, offering her knowledge of Special Educational Needs, having over 30 years teaching experience with children who encounter a range of learning difficulties.
 
Heather Clark-Kelly lives in the village and was herself a pupil at Kirkby Malzeard School; she now has a daughter attending our school. Heather is an Early Years professional and runs a day nursery, breakfast and after school club in Pateley Bridge.
Gemma Pawson is a mum of 4 children, 2 of whom are currently pupils in school. She has a busy and exciting life and enjoys reading, going to the theatre and has a love of learning. Gemma enjoys her work as a parent governor and her role as a teacher. She feels proud to help scaffold the learning of our hard working and enthusiastic children.
 
Gwyneth Jackson is a retired music teacher who has a love of the outdoors. She is very active in the local community and supports the school in many ways. She regularly joins us for assemblies and collective worship. Through her support and encouragement our children have developed a real love of gardening, keenly taking part in the Yorkshire in Bloom competitions.
