Weekly Update 25th January 2018

Mrs Wolfe - 25 Jan 2018

This week in Cedar we have been investigating formal language and shifts of formality in writing.  We've had great fun with role-play, practising language and content before writing formal letters.  Pupils have been translating their grammar work brilliantly into their letters - using semi-colons and colons to mark boundaries between clauses.  We finished our work on long division methods this week and are completing this unit of work with factors, inverse and order of operations revision.  Our geography work continued with digital mapping and in science we have been investigating light.  On Tuesday, Cedar joined Palm class for a singing workshop with Leroy Johnson - lots of fun was had by all!  It's been fantastic to see more reply slips come in for the Charity Concert on the 23rd of March.  Mr Morris has returned to support our speaking and projection work - he has lots of exciting plans for the future.  We were also joined by Mr Weld who will be reading and sharing books with Cedar class every Monday afternoon.  It is lovely to work with our school community and we appreciate the time given to support Cedar's learning.
