Weekly Update - 8th November 2018

05 Nov 2018

I hope everyone had a restful half term! The children have returned with great attitudes and are all ready to learn. The curriculum jigsaw in the 'curriculum' section of the website lasts for the whole term, please feel free to have a look over it if you haven't already.

We had a really exciting morning today at Pizza Express in Northallerton. We really enjoyed learning about how pizzas are made and making our own pizza. We are going to use our experiences in our English work over the next few weeks - writing instructions and persuasive adverts for Pizza Express.

This week are English work has also had a real life focus - creating firework poems using alliteration and developing our note-taking skills to find out more about Guy Fawkes. We then used these notes and added conjunctions to extend our ideas - there was even some examples of subordination! In Maths we have focussed on using our addition skills to solve problems, including reasoning problems and enjoyed creating problems for each other to solve.

We have continued to develop our Skara Brae presentations in our topic lessons and enjoyed sharing them with each other this afternoon.

Please note there are no 'stars of the week' this week, however you are welcome to join us for our Remembrance Assembly at 2.45pm.
Have a lovely weekend.
