Weekly Update - 27th September 2018

25 Sep 2018

What a super day we have had! We all really enjoyed our visit to Leyburn to see Tom Palmer - we are going to start reading one of his books in our class story time. In our English lessons we have moved on to investigating characters and have been experimenting with fantastic similes, metaphors and adjectives to describe characters in our book 'Stone Age Boy'. The children have thought of some super words and are becoming great magpies when pinching other words which author's use.

In Maths we have started to investigate negative numbers and will continue with this learning next week. Our History lessons have taken an arty twist - we have looked carefully at cave paintings and created our own cave art on greaseproof paper. There were some really excellent designs. We then transferred this 'cave art' outside - using chalks on brick to create a 'real' cave wall.

The children are continuing to work incredibly hard. Thank you all for your hard work in learning spellings, SMIRF facts, reading and completing homework. It really does make a big difference.
