Weekly Update - 13th September 2018

11 Sep 2018

We have had such a good start in Palm Class! The children have started the year enthusiastically and have thrown themselves into all areas of learning. They've worked very hard learning new routines and I am so impressed with everyone's attitude so far.

We had a really exciting start to our week on Monday and our visit to Murton Park. It was a great day and the children really embraced the stone age way of life - grinding corn, hunting wild animals and working the land! Since returning, we have written recounts of our visit and we will continue working on these next week. We have developed our English skills of using list punctuation and time conjunctions.

We have also worked very hard to develop our place value understanding in maths - learning to partition numbers as well as ordering and comparing. Miss Oates was very pleased with the brilliant start everyone got off to with their science learning on rocks on Friday morning and Mr Powell and Mrs Harris have had equally positive reports about Music and P.E!

The home reading system is working well with lots of children having changed their book already. Please do keep trying to read at home as much as possible, practise spellings and have a go at 'Times Table Rockstars'.
