Weekly Update - 1st February 2018

01 Feb 2018

It has been another exciting week in Palm Class. In Maths we have moved onto our new topic of Measures (particularly length, area and perimeter). We have investigated and measured and today enjoyed creating our own dream village, applying our area and perimeter skills into real life as well as totalling the lengths of 2 jelly snakes!
In our English lessons we have looked at suspense, using our class novel ‘Room 13’ as inspiration. We are going to use this to help us create our own suspense writing next week. In our Geography lessons we have continued to investigate the world around us – beginning to look at map symbols and how they are used. This even lead to us exploring printing techniques in Art and re-printing some classic map symbols. Thank you for all of the Carlton Lodge deposits – we will be arranging the visit and will let you know next week. On Thursday next week, KS2 will be visiting West Tanfield to take part in some geography fieldwork – please see separate letter.
