Weekly Update - 11th April 2019

11 Apr 2019

What a fun-packed and exciting week we have had! The end of term is always a busy one and we've really jammed in lots of learning and experiences this week.

In English the children have continued to learn about the features of explanations and have worked hard to improve their sentence level work on causal and time conjunctions. In our maths lessons the focus has been on adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator - there has been lots of examples of great reasoning and problem solving.

Our India topic was finished off nicely this afternoon by the children talking about their delicious sounding homework! The children have clearly really enjoyed this topic and their knowledge of geography has improved such a lot.

On Monday, we all enjoyed our Easter service and it was great to see lots of parents and friends joining us. Yesterday, the whole of Palm Class visited Markington Cricket Ground for the Tri-Golf Festival. It was a wonderful afternoon in the spring sunshine and all of the children were fantastic. The children were split into three teams and one of the teams came in first place with over 400 points! That means that team progresses through to the next stage of the competition - more details will follow early next term.

Have a great Easter holiday - we return to school on Monday 29th April. You are welcome to join us for our start of term service at 9.15 in church.
