Class Weekly Update - Spring 1, Week 2

We’ve had a wonderful and wintry week. We really enjoyed our time in the snow today – and it was a great opportunity to think about our seasonal changes (and build snowmen at playtime!). We also managed to use the snow to inspire some lovely wintry poetry.
We have finished sharing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I have been thrilled to hear that many of you have been sharing the story at home too and even going on to read Charlie and the great glass elevator too! This enthusiasm will be helpful for our reading challenge.

We have been exploring animals and their habitats in our science work. We split into groups and will share our research with the rest of the class in our own documentary (watch out Sir David Attenborough – Oak Class are after your job!). The children have really enjoyed looking at the different types of habitats that exist around the world.

In our English work we thought about what we would do if we had our very own Magic Pencil like the one in Malala’s story. We had some lovely suggestions such as making sure that everyone has a home, enough food and also getting rid of illness. We have been recapping some of our learning from last term in our maths work, including addition and subtraction.

Please check the 'Star of the Week' tab to see who our class star is this week. Please try to keep this as a surprise until it is revealed in our Celebration Assembly tomorrow afternoon.
