Gemma Pawson - 20 May 2020

Hello Acorn Class!
I hope that you all had a fantastic day yesterday and spent lots of time outside! I have heard that lots of you have been playing in your paddling pools.
There are lots of things that we can do to look after nature when it is hot, things like filling the bird bath with fresh water, or putting water into a shallow dish. Making insects welcome and providing shelter with log piles, there are so may kind things to do. The Wildlife trust has lots of great ideas on their website and Instagram page. Don't forget to be kind to yourself, others and nature.
I wonder if anyone tried the Wellbeing Wake up yesterday? It was great fun and really worth while. Did anyone try and make a game to play?
I read a beautiful story 'While We Can't Hug' by Polly Dunbar yesterday. It is a fabulous way to help explain what we can do instaed of giving our friends a hug. This is something I find really tricky to remember so the ideas were great and made me think. Have a look, it maybe worth a read together.

Here are a few learning ideas that you might try today. We have been playing UNO in my family, so I thought a phonics UNO game might be fun.

I am going to read a story today about a rain cloud who is sad and lonely. I think there are a few farmers and gardeners who would love to see Cyril the rain cloud! What would you do if you felt sad or lonely? How might you help someone who was sad.

Have a terrific Thursday Acorn Class. I wonder what adventures you will have today? I look forward to a chat with you all later on today!
I will be on our class email between 12-1pm today.
Take care Mrs Pawson
