Weekly update 6th February

Mrs Pawson - 06 Feb 2020

Did you know that we are all published authors and illustrators in Acorn Class?
We have all made our very own books to retell our bear adventure story, then we shared our books with our reading buddy. We feel very proud! We have one last piece of writing to do before we start looking at a new book. Look out in your post for a special message coming your way soon!

We are also super proud of our phonics skills for reading this week, Mrs Pawson has been playing some reading games with us which have been quite tricky, we have needed to use all of our digraph and trigraph knowledge. In one sentence we had 'The sharks are in the farmyard', we have plans for lots more great reading and writing next week!

We have looked at the phonemes 'air' 'ure' ' ear' and 'er'. Our phonics have been fun and active this week as we have been very busy learners, I'm looking forward to using the mixer tomorrow!

Mrs Pawson has been spotting lots of fabulous maths patterns all around our classroom this week both inside and out, we have been really busy making number stories which have made us giggle, there have been puppy dogs eating treats and worms nibbling flowers! We are all fabulous mathematicians well done everyone, even the flowers have been counted and grouped!

Have a look at our spring bulbs in class, tonight we are setting up a time lapse to watch them overnight, like spies, we wonder what will happen to them. We have also been exploring QR codes this week, our ICT skills are really growing.

A huge well done to everyone for their fabulous effort in the skipathon on Monday, we put in lots of effort and perseverance. We had a few children still missing PE kits, please can children have an indoor PE kit and a pair of welly bobs in school everyday.

I wonder what wonderful learning adventures we will get up to next week, I have a feeling we are going to be really busy learners and I can't wait!
