Weekly Update - 5th December 2019

Miss Oates and Mrs Pawson - 05 Dec 2019

This week we were very excited to start thinking about advent. We have a slightly different advent calendar in Acorns...instead of chocolate we have a thinking challenge all to do with Christmas! Today we talked about who we admire and why. Our advent calendar has also been helping us with our learning about time. We have had lots of talk about what month it is, what day of the month it is and what day of the week it is. Our tricky word this week was ‘was’ which has helped our discussion of the past e.g. yesterday, last week, earlier this morning etc. We are really beginning to develop our sense of time...although Christmas still just seems too far away for most!

Our Nativity adventures have been continuing this week. The children are learning the story well and have been amazing us with their writing again. We are really understanding each of the characters’ roles. We can’t wait for you to come and see our Nativity next week. Please bring costumes in by Monday and let us know about any additional tickets request ASAP.

Please remember to keep checking the school website for news and events.

Useful dates:
- Thursday 12th December, 2pm and 6pm, Acorn and Oak Nativity
- Friday 13th December, Christmas crafts morning
- Thursday 19th December, Christmas dinner and jumper day
- Friday 20th December, Carol service, 1:30pm (school closes at 3pm)
