Weekly update 12th September

Mrs Pawson and Miss Oates - 12 Sep 2019

We have had another fabulous week this week with so many great adventures. We had a few different things set out in our classroom to start the week. Some ‘transient art’ (moveable interesting objects) and a fabulous book about faces have inspired us to look at our own faces, think about how we feel, make faces from pine cones and glass pebbles, fabric and ribbon. So many great ideas. We have also loved printing and making different things in the sensory tray using the play dough. We change some of the things we set out each week, feel free to explore them with your child.

We have shared lots of great stories this week, some read and some told, what great imaginations we all have.

The highlight of our week has been learning to ride our bikes! We have been amazed at how well the children have done. Nearly everyone can now ride a balance bike unaided, we just need to practise lots. None of us have been using stabilisers. We can’t wait to show everyone at our special assembly next week (Friday 20th September at 9.15am- please see the email).

We have started to make our class learning journey on the wall... come and have a look. We have also loved using our puddle suits and welly boots this week in the wildlife area.

We learnt about Betty Bee this week... we have a Betty Bee who has a ‘I can do it attitude’ and a Bill Bat who doesn’t learn new things or try new adventures. We all talk about how we want to be like Betty Bee who learns new things, has great resilience, has a growth mindset and enjoys great adventures. A positive growth mindset is really important in our school.

We really look forward to seeing you all at our start of term service next week (Tuesday).

Here are a few photos of our week so far... we apologise for some being upside down it is a technical problem that we are trying to sort out!
