Weekly Update - 5th July

05 Jul 2018

We've been on a dinosaur hunt this week...did you spot them? There were 15 to find. We explored some great maths problems when on our hunt to work out how many were left to find.

We have also been great engineers and problem solvers this week. Mrs Cooper set the challenge of creating a waterpipe system where the water was able to go around corners. This caused great teamwork as more and more children started joining and with much perseverence we had success!!! Something new has now arrived in our water tray outside- I wonder what it is?

As world cup fever is spreading through the nation we have created a small football pitch. This has brought about some great learning about rules and fair play.

We have also been busy showing off our best learning as we have been carrying out of end of year assessments - these have been done in a variety of styles through 1:1 working with a teacher, group assessments and observations. The children have all been really mature and worked hard.

Thank you to everyone who attended our library opening on Monday. The children will all have checked out a book by the end of the week. We have really been celebrating the independent choices the chlidren have made. This will develop and we will be working with the children throughtout the next few terms to help them with how to make good choices. If you ahve any questions please come and ask.

We have collected in all our wordless picture books from the book bags - we still have a few missing. Please could you have a look around at home and return them as soon as possible so we can use them again with our new starters in September - thank you.
