The children have made us really proud this week with their attitudes towards our assessments - they really have 'showed off' their learning! Well done everyone! 

On top of these assessments our learning has been filled with lots of transport excitement. We have been engineers and designed our very own piece of transport. We have made careful plans which involved lots of detail and measurements. Next week we will be building our models and will certainly need our growth mindset skills like 'Rosie Revere' to help us succeed. If you have any cereal boxes, egg cartons, bottle tops, straws or any crafty materials we could use please bring them into school either tomorrow or Monday morning - thank you! 

We have been continuing describing everything all week to help us with our writing. The sensory tray has proved very popular this week and the children have used great vocabulary and been very imaginative. 

Our investigation work has taken it's next step as our potatoes had chitted and were ready for planting - I wonder what will happen next? Keep an eye on them on our investigation table. 

Since we have had our 'fairtrade shop' in our role play area we have noticed many of the children are sturggling with coin recognition. If at all possible it would be great if the children could handle real coins at home and begin to become confident with the value of each. 

During the snowy and wet weather lots of children went home in our spare sets of socks and tights. Unfortunately they have not been returned and we are therefore running very low. If you have any of the school spares at home, or you have any old uniform that you could dontate, please pop it in to school on a morning - we would be very greatful. 

Do we have any offers of support for our 'Outdoor Classroom Working Party' from friends or family? 

You may notice soon that we will occassionally start putting out a question during morning drop off for the adults to respond to.The aim of this will be for us to better tailor our teaching environment and routines to suit the children and families we have in our class currently. Your input with this will be invaluable to keep us moving forward. 

On Monday morning both Mrs Pawson and Miss Oates will be attending a training course and therefore the class will be taught by Miss Hallett. If there is anything you need us for, you can catch Miss Oates at the end of the day as she will be back teaching in the afternoon.
