Miss Oates and Mrs Pawson - 15 Mar 2018

World book day success! We had a great day on Monday. In the morning we created our very own Jolly Postman story which involved characters that were in our classroom - it is now in the final stages of being put together! In the afternoon we had a carousel of activites designed by our school reading ambassadors. The children were great at moving around the school and getting involved in everything.

Spring has been one of our 'buzz words' this week. Following the snow we are all very keen for spring  to arrive and we have been spotting some signs of it...snowdrops, daffodils, lambs, a little bit of sunshine and warmth and it is getting lighter. We have loved using our outdoor classroom much more and we have been showing great teamwork in this area. We have also had opportunities to build our gross motor skills using our tricycles to get around and by building with large construction materials. On our Spring 2 newsletter we mentioned putting together a working party to help us stay on top of cleaning this area to make sure the children can make the most of it. If anyone is interested in supporting us in this way please let us know, we would be super grateful!

We have been thinking lots about description this week in our writing. We have spent all week trying to describe EVERYTHING! What can you describe at home? In maths we have been looking at one more and one less and ordering numbers. We have used our numberline counting song to help us with this - can you teach anyone at home this song?

Thank you to everyone who has attended their child's learning review meeting this week. We appreciate your invovlement with your child's learning and have had great responses from the children in class about these. Thank you for your effort with our new booking system too. Please keep using your parent log in to check the website for updates incase an email has been missed. If you are having difficulties please let us know and we can help.

Forward planning...we will be holding a couple sessions next term for reception to share their learning with their families. Our propsed dates are Thursday 19th April 9-9:30am and Tuesday 24th April 9-9:30am. These two sessions will be slightly different, one looking at their learning journey and the other looking at their learning environment. We hope you can make it!

(Photos arrived...technical difficulties sorted! Thank you for your patience.)
