Weekly Update - 8th February 2018

Miss Oates and Mrs Pawson - 08 Feb 2018

Our magical journey has concluded this week with magical lamps, beans and mirrors. All the children have produced some wonderful writing, all about their magical adventures through our 'mirror mirror on the wall' - it has made for a very tough decision with certifiactes this week and we are very proud. We have also had lots of child-led scientific investigation happeneing all week. Sparked from stories and the children's interests we have learnt about the moon, the sun and our solar system; we have investigated wheels and making objects move; and we have looked at mirrors and how they can change; and magnetisim and why some things 'stick'.

Next term our topic is all about transport. We have organised a school trip to York Railway Museum in the first week back. We have already quickly talked to most of you about this but a letter will be heading out as soon as posisble to finalise details - we are very excited about this! Over the holidays can you start thinking of any questions about transport that you might like to investigate.

Please keep up with lots of reading over the holidays - it is really important to read lots and lots to help build fluency at this stage of reading as well as lots of storytelling to build up language. Thank you.
