Weekly update - 25th January 2018

Miss Oates and Mrs Pawson - 25 Jan 2018

We’ve had another magical week in Oak Class. Our journey this week was inspired by our ‘Magical Box’ that was delivered  to our classroom over the weekend. We’ve learnt about the importance of addresses on post and have been practising writing our own incase we want a magical box delievered to us! We have also been writing invitations for parties and some wonderful magical stories! There has been a great effort from everyone and we have been focusing on the purpose of our writing. We’ve been mastering the tricky skill of estimation in our maths as well as continuing to deepen our knowledge of addition and subtraction. Lots of talk about numbers and shape, space and measure helps us keep on top of these skills. We had some visitors in on Wednesday who we enjoyed working with - they were very impressed with our knowledge of democracy and British values. We do lots of voting in Oak Class to help us remember this. Keep an eye out for our new handwriting practise on a morning...there’ll be lots of dancing and music to help us develop our gross motor skills as well as writing practise (we might even get you to join in!)

Don’t forget to check who our ‘star of the week’ is using the tab at the top of this page.
