Weekly update - 21st June 2018

Miss Oates and Mrs Pawson - 21 Jun 2018

'We're going on a bird and tree hunt' has been our theme this week. We have made bird feeders to attract them into our wildlife area and closely observed - we didnt see much BUT...we did spot a woodpecker in the orchard (see photos). We have also been identifying and classifying trees using their leaves for clues. We've even practise our yoga pretending to be a tree!

We welcomed our new starters into the classroom for the first time this week. We had a class full of great role models and we are super proud of how well they helped us look after the new starters - well done everyone. We will be meeting them again next week too.

In maths we have been working on our positional and directional skills. This is going to take lots of continuous practise...keep thinking about your left and right and turns. In English we have been reading 'How to wash a wolly mammoth'. We have been thinking about how to create clear and precise instructions and then trying them out on our very own wooly mammoth.

It's going to be hot next week...don't forget your sunhats and sunglasses as we have lots planned for outside!
